About us

Built by site people, for site people

Site Engineer is an open construction forum. Post a question, attach a photo of the problem, and get straight answers from people who have already dealt with it.

Why we exist

Construction knowledge usually lives in people's heads and dies on the drive home. A crack in a slab, a rebar spacing query, a quote that looks too cheap — the answer exists somewhere on a job site nearby. Site Engineer puts those questions and the people who can answer them in one open, searchable place.

Open to everyone

Homeowners, apprentices, site engineers and seasoned contractors all ask and answer in the same place. No paywalls, no gatekeeping.

Practical answers

We care about what actually works on site — mixes, spans, sequencing, costs and code — not theory for the sake of it.

Safety first

Answers that cut corners on safety get called out. If a job needs a licensed pro or an engineer's sign-off, we say so.

How it works

  1. 1. Ask. Create a free account, write your question, pick a category and attach a site photo if it helps.
  2. 2. Get answers. Members reply with what they would do, and the best replies get upvoted to the top.
  3. 3. Give back. Answer someone else's question — that is what keeps the forum alive.
